– Since Sally hadn’t slept well, she was up very early working on her “Henry”
book; however, it was still about 10:40 AM by the time we made it to breakfast. As Jesse’s daughter, Verna, sat with us most
of the time, we had a nice conversation with her. After breakfast, we went to the pool
again. Since this was an “at sea” day, this
time the pool was loaded with people. We
mostly just danced to the music in the pool for about 30 minutes, as did most
of the other passengers; and then sat in the hot tub for about 10 minutes. Later, we returned to the buffet for a light
lunch, where Jesse Jr., Bethany, and Aubrey joined us. We sat and talked for a couple of hours. Afterwards, we returned to our cabin, where
we started packing for our trip home, finishing before 5:30 PM.
Tonight was our group’s Historically Black
Colleges and Universities (HBCU) night.
We had ordered alumni shirts from LeMoyne College; Jesse as a former
linebacker, and Sally as a 100-meter track team member – neither a true fact,
since we did not attend HBCU institutions.
Since Jesse had attended LeMoyne one summer, he felt more like an alumni
from there than any other HBCU.
At dinner, the waiters put on a very lively dance
show. Several of our group got up and
danced along. Before leaving the dining
room, we said our goodbye’s to family members with early flights.
