Friday, 8 Dec 2023 – We docked at Roatan, Honduras at 7:00 AM. Honduras is a Central American country with Caribbean Sea coastlines to the north and the Pacific Ocean to the south. Roatan is an island in the Caribbean, about 40 miles off the northern coast of Honduras, and is the largest of the Bay islands of the Honduras.
Sally had slept well and no longer had a fever,
so we walked to the Terrace Café for breakfast.
Sally was still very weak, so Jesse got her meal from the buffet for
her. We sat next to a couple from
Fairfax, VA, Jim & Pat. He was
retired from the Department of Defense and had spent time in and around the
Quad Cities. It was raining again, so
Jesse didn’t go ashore. We went to
afternoon tea in the Horizons for the first time, hoping the tea would make
Sally feel better. A string quartet was
playing on the stage.
We went to our usual dinner at the Terrace Café,
and Jesse got Sally’s meal again. She
was disappointed that no lobster was available this time, so Jesse got her red
snapper, which she enjoyed.
