Wednesday, 20 Dec 2023 – Today was another at-sea day. We barely made it to the Terrace Café for breakfast before it closed. Then Sally went back to sleep. Later, Sally went out on our balcony for a little while. The seas were rough and it was cold and windy, but birds were flying along beside the ship. She was unable to get her laptop online, so she read a lot more of The Witches Heart.
A Captain’s Cocktail Celebration for this segment
of our cruise was scheduled for tonight at 5:45 PM, so we went there for the
dancing, free drinks and senior staff introductions. We were hoping to sit at a table with Keith
& Carol again, but they were sitting at one of the sofas around the dance
floor, so we sat at another available table, a couple away from theirs. When the senior staff introductions were
complete, we still hadn’t received any drinks, and neither had Keith &
Carol. When they finally received
drinks, they sent the waiter to our table.
We decided to have only one rum punch each this time. Even so, we were still a little tipsy at
dinner in the Terrace Café, so Jesse picked up Sally’s meal for her. We decided not to the order the complimentary
wine with dinner this time! Before
retiring, we moved our watches ahead by one hour.

– This was the second at-sea day in a row.
It was still cold and windy. As
we walked through the pool area to breakfast, Sally was glad that she had
decided to wear long sleeves. When
weather permits, we walk to the Terrace Café through the pool area, which is located
at the back of the ship; our stateroom very close to the front. Walking through the pool area provide places
for Sally to sit and rest if she tires from the walk; walking down the corridor
on Deck 7 does not.
Sally finished reading The Witch’s Heart. Before dinner in the Terrace Café, we
danced to the 4 Corner’s Band in the Horizons.
We ordered a sweet dessert wine with our dinner.
