We Love Aruba! |
Saturday,
6 Jan 2018 – At breakfast, a little earlier than usual, we joined Olga and
Carel (pronounced like “Karl”) from Eindhoven, Netherlands. Since we had toured Aruba previously, we didn’t
sign up for an excursion today. However,
we went ashore at about 11:00 AM and walked around for a little while. Then we returned to the ship, and went for a
swim at about noon. Since the sun was
hot (it had been cloudy and windy until today), a few people were sitting in
the sun and eventually got into the pool.
At that point, we stopped swimming.
This pool is only long enough for 2 people to swim back and forth (maybe
3 people if they can circle swim); if another person enters the water, swimming
the length might be difficult, unless the person stays in one corner. We haven’t seen anyone else actually swim,
but the best time would be very early morning or after dark – and we’re not up
early, and Jesse is more comfortable when it is light enough to see
better. People seem to get into the
water primarily to cool off. (At least
today we swam almost as long as we would have anyway.)
For
lunch, Jesse enjoyed soup, salad, a cheese plate, and two desserts; Sally
limited her lunch to a salad and one dessert.
Way to go Sally!
After dancing to
a few songs in the Horizons Lounge (where we sat with Gordon and Kath), we ate
dinner in the Terrace Café. Again, we
ate lobster! Since no pre-show dancing was
scheduled, after dinner we retired for the night.
