Tuesday,
9 Jan 2018 – After breakfast, we swam.
The water was very rough, sloshing from one end of the pool to the
other, which required extra strength to fight the current and avoid being
pushed hard against the side.
Three days earlier, we had received an
invitation to a “private cocktail party exclusively for Oceania Club members”
in the Insignia Lounge tonight. Since
this is our first Oceania cruise, we wondered why we had been invited! However, it turns out that we were receiving
bronze pins which we will earn after sailing to Singapore; they simply gave us
the awards in advance. Crew members
received various awards in the ceremony.
Besides being served drinks (we asked for rum punch), we also danced to
the orchestra before and after the formalities.
Afterward, we had dinner in the Terrace Café.
