Friday, 29 Jun 2018 – Since
it was fairly late when we went to breakfast, we didn’t see any of our friends
and so we sat by ourselves. Just after
we had finished eating dinner, Nelson came by and sat down beside us to
talk. He strongly suggested that we read
the book, American Dilemma, authored
in 1944 by Swedish economist Gunnar Myrdal about race relations in the U.S. –
which Nelson says have not really changed much since then.
This
was packing day, though we didn’t start for several hours. Sally managed to finish her book Angelology by Danielle Trussoni; and
Jesse did his best with his Stephen King book, Finders Keepers, but couldn’t come close to finishing it.

Ocean Trio - Nadia, Michael, & Brad |
We
also danced tonight for the last time on this cruise. This band has been very accommodating
by playing some songs we like; almost always they play a tango for us. Nadia, the vocalist, also sang “Sunrise,
Sunset” two nights at our request, which we liked very much. Although she had only performed the
instrumental version previously, she sang it beautifully!
